INEC Releases Press Statement Regarding Attacks on Its Facilities in Anambra, Enugu And IMO State


It's no longer news that some INEC Offices in  South East State of Nigeria were attacked by unidentified men last week. The attacks were targeted at its facilities, burning vehicles, buildings and carting away major facilities meant for the commission.

With reference to these effect, INEC have issued a press statement regarding attacks on its facilities in IMO, Enugu and Anambra state. Take a Look At their press statement and tweets below, 




Regarding the above statements, In Awka Anambra state; unidentified hoodlums attacked INEC Office and destroyed its facilities ranging from electoral materials, machines, generators and collation hall. Similar attack took place in Enugu state; its barely two weeks two INEC Offices was attacked, this recent  onslaught at the Headquarters is the third in a row. The series of attacks at Udenu, Igboeze south LGAs and INEC headquarters were all premeditated. Fire also gutted INEC Office at Ahaizu Mbaise LGA in similar fashion.

The attacks has been described as a setback to INEC zonal and regional operations, the commission have complained of sabotage, misdemeanor and an act of distorting the forth coming electoral system scheduled to take place in Anambra state this November 2021.
