N-Power Beneficiaries’ Stipends Increased To N50,000

N-Power Beneficiaries’ Stipends Increased To N50,000?

N-Power Beneficiaries’ Stipends Increased?

Since President Muhammadu Buhari signed the N30,000 minimum wage bill into law on Thursday, N-Power beneficiaries have been fed with news of their monthly stipend increased from N30, 000 to N50, 000.

The President assented to the Act barely three weeks after he received the report of the Presidential Technical Advisory Committee on the Implementation of the National Minimum Wage (PTAC).

The report was presented to the President on March 25, 2019, by the chairman of the committee and economist, Bismarck Rewane.

The speculation of proposed increment of stipends of the volunteers claims the decision of the Federal Government follows wide consultations by the agencies overseeing youth development.

The talk states that N-Power beneficiaries will start to receive N50,000, while members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will have their N19, 800 upped to N35,000.

Concise News took some time to verify this report and here is our verdict, based on available facts.

What we know is that there has not been any official statement from the Federal Government on increment of any sort of N-Power beneficiaries stipends. There is every possibility the Federal Government raise the stipends, however, as things stand, N30, 000 is still the remuneration. Hence, the claim that N-Power have increased beneficiaries’ stipends is false!
